AFDP Research Project Mid-term Evaluation Completed
The mid-term evaluation of the APEC Finance and Development Program (AFDP) Research Project, which started in September 2003, was completed a few days ago. According to the evaluation done by the AFDP Academic Committee (AFDPAC), all the 12 research projects, which have provided their Interim Reports on schedule, progress smoothly and the AFDPAC believe they are qualified for further funding. Therefore the AFDP Secretariat will provide them with the second part of the approved fund in the near future.
The final results of those funded projects are expected to be submitted to the AFDP Secretariat in August 2004 while the AFDPAC will be responsible for the final acceptance check. All the qualified research papers will be included in the AFDP 2005 Annual Report. Selected researchers will be invited to present their findings at the AFDP Annual Forum or training workshops. Furthermore, constructive results will be submitted to the technical working groups meeting under the APEC Finance Minister’s Meeting (FMM) and the Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting (FCBD) for policy makers’ consideration.
