Video Conferencing Facilitates Leadership Training at GMS Cooperation Learning Program

From Oct 18^th to the 24^th, the strategic leadership learning program was held at the Shanghai National Accounting Institute. This was the second time that the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Center and the Asian Development Bank have worked together on a program, based on experience culled from last year. Of special significance to the program were the three video conference sessions, which helped integrate the teaching resources from the Bank’s Manila and Washington locations.

On Oct 20^th and 21^st, Mr. Goswami and Mr. Hew presented on the topics of Prospects and Challenges for Greater Mekong Subregion Cooperation and ASEAN Strategic Leadership Experience, respectively, from the Bank’s headquarters in Manila via video link. On Oct 22^nd, Mr. Linn delivered a presentation to the Shanghai audience on Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation. With the help of video conferencing, the speakers and audience were able to interactively participate in an exchange of ideas.   

The three video conferencing sessions not only allowed for the use of more diverse pedagogical tools, but enabled the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Center and the Asian Development Bank to take advantage of resources from other organizations.
