PRC-ADB Knowledge Sharing Platform:Regional Workshop on Sustainable Urbanization in Shanghai
From Nov 2nd to the 6th, the Regional Workshop on Sustainable Urbanization was held at the Shanghai National Accounting Institute. This one-week event, the first under the PRC-ADB Knowledge Sharing Platform, was a joint initiative of China’s Ministry of Finance and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Envisaged as a multi-year program, the Platform will facilitate dialogue and exchange between China and other ADB member countries.
The workshop, organized by the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Center, brought together about fifty senior government officials and resource speakers to share knowledge on sound urbanization strategies and good practices in urban planning, urban renewal and expansion, and urban finance. Besides the PRC, developing member countries represented at the workshop included Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
