2011 mini SHIPDET for officials from western regions of China opens on March 15
The 2011 mini SHIPDET tailored to the officials from China’s underdeveloped regions opened on March 15, 2011. The program was co-sponsored by the West Development Department of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the World Bank and the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Center (AFDC). About 40 participants from four provinces attended the five-day training program.
This mini SHIPDET program aims to improve the investment and public management ability of the government officials from the development and reform commissions and other related agencies in China’s western provinces. Its faculty team is made up of famous evaluation experts from relevant government departments and academic institutions in China, including Dr. Zhao Min from AFDC. Besides the basic evaluation theory and approaches, more domestic cases of evaluation were offered at the class.
The program was first launched in 2009. So far, it has trained in three cohorts nearly one hundred participants from 12 provinces. The program was well received and got very positive feedbacks from its participants.
