Workshop on Infrastructure Financing in China Held in Shenzhen
From June 6 to June 10, the workshop on infrastructure financing in China was completed in Shenzhen. 12 delegates from the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam attended the training. Dr. Peng Runzhong, director of AFDC, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an opening speech on the morning of June 6.
For the five-day training, six keynote speech sessions, a case study session, a site visit to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and finally a one-day city tour was arranged for the participants. Besides Dr. Peng and Dr. Zhao Min who are from AFDC, several experts from the China Ministry of Finance, Shanghai Finance Bureau, Shanghai Urban Development and Investment Co. Ltd, Guangzhou Water Investment Group, and Shenzhen Stock Exchange were also invited to make presentations at the workshop.
Topics discussed at the training included the latest developments of infrastructure financing in China, local experience and industry experience of infrastructure financing in China, institutions and instruments of China’s infrastructure financing, as well as how to go global with China’s infrastructure financing.
During the training sessions, Vietnam delegates had very active discussions with Chinese experts on various issues concerning infrastructure financing. The training thus provided an excellent opportunity for the two countries to learn from each other.
This is the fifth training workshop AFDC undertakes for Vietnam finance officials since 2008 when AFDC and the Institute of Financial Training of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam launched the Sino-Vietnam Finance Officials Capacity Building Program.
