Workshop on Performance Evaluation designed for Ningxia Department of Finance held in SNAI
The workshop on performance evaluation customized for Ningxia Department of Finance was held on 5-8 September, 2011 in the Shanghai National Accounting Institute. About 80 participants took part in the four-day training. Dr. Li Kouqing, Deputy Director-General of the AFDC and Ms. Lu Fang, Deputy Director-General of Ningxia Department of Finance gave the welcome and introductory remarks at the opening ceremony.
In early 2007, AFDC, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, launched the Shanghai International Program for Development Evaluation Training. Since then, performance evaluation has become a very hot topic in China as both the national and local financial system see an importance in knowing how and to what extent the public financed interventions are achieving intended results. In this context, a workshop on performance evaluation was specially designed for Ningxia Department of Finance by AFDC, combining the cutting-edge evaluation theories in the world with local practices in China.
The workshop invited a number of famous experts in public finance management and performance evaluation who gave participants a panorama view of the theories and current status of performance evaluation as well as the methodology and indicator system of conducting evaluation. Cases on performance evaluation of the public funds to support hi-tech enterprises in Shanghai, and the experience of using public funds by Shanghai Urban Development and Investment Co. Ltd were also shared in the workshop. In addition to these formal sessions, a team-building session and a session on happiness were also included in the workshop agenda.
