The delegation of Vietnam Institute of Financial Training visits AFDC
From December 23 to 25, 2011, a delegation of seven Vietnamese officials from Vietnam’s Institute of Financial Training (IFT) and Ministry of Finance (MOF), led by Dr. Do Duc Minh, Director General of IFT, visited AFDC. Dr. Li Kouqing, Deputy Director-General of AFDC, together with Dr. Peng Runzhong, Director of AFDC and some AFDC staff, met with the delegation. In the meeting, they discussed the hot issues of fiscal reform in both China and Vietnam, reviewed the implementation of the Sino-Vietnam Finance Officials’ Capacity Building Program from 2008 to 2011 and looked into the future cooperation between the two sides.
Dr. Li extended warm welcome to the delegation and highly appreciated the efforts made by Vietnam MOF and IFT to the Sino-Vietnam Finance Officials’ Capacity Building Program. As Dr. Li pointed out, AFDC has always attached great importance to the Program. The design of the training and the quality of class interpretation are considered as key factors to the success of the Program. He was also deeply impressed by the Vietnamese participants’ active learning attitude in these events, said Dr. Li.
Dr. Minh stated briefly that the Sino-Vietnam Finance Officials’ Capacity Building Program is highly commended by Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance and the Vietnamese participants. To further improve the effectiveness of the training, IFT would make more efforts to enhance the working plan, select the right interpreters, and collaborate with AFDC for better coordination of experts and all the other resources and better organization of the learning events as well as the field trips in the future.
At the end of the meeting, another three-year cooperation agreement was reached between AFDC and IFT. According to the agreement, the two sides will spare no effort to train more Chinese and Vietnamese finance officials in future activities using diverse training modes such as videoconferencing techniques to promote bilateral exchange and cooperation for better understanding and deepening friendship between the two countries.
