APEC Seminar on Fiscal and Taxation Policies for Economic Restructuring held in Bo'ao
On February 19-20, the APEC Seminar on Fiscal and Taxation Policies for Economic Restructuring hosted by the Ministry of Finance of China and organized by the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Center (AFDC) was held held in Bo’ao, Hainan Province, China. The seminar was opened with a keynote speech delivered by Mr. Shi Yaobin, the Vice Minister of Finance, P.R.China. Over 90 participants including officials from APEC economies, experts from the international organizations such as World Bank, IMF, ADB and OECD, as well as representatives from academia attended the seminar.
During the seminar, speakers and participants shared their insights and experiences on the issues including Fiscal and Taxation's Role in Economic Restructuring, Nurturing Market Though Government Procurement of Public Services, Fiscal and Taxation Policies for Job Creation and Promoting Fiscal Sustainability Through Prudent Treasury and Debt Management.
China is hosting the APEC 2014 meetings. As one of the events under the APEC Finance Deputies Meeting, the seminar has made a good start for the activities to be held under the APEC Finance Ministers' Process in 2014.
