2014 Shanghai International Program for Development Evaluation Training Spring Course opened

The SHIPDET spring course, which is co-sponsored by the Ministry of the Finance of China (MOF), the World Bank (WB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Center (AFDC), was started from April 21-24, attracting 80 participants from 28 provinces, cities, autonomous regions, ministries and committees. Guan Xiuzhen, Director of International Organizations and Conferences Department of MOF’s and Dr. Lu Wenbin, the President Assistant of Shanghai National Accounting Institute attended the opening ceremony and addressed opening remarks respectively.

 

The SHIPDET training program started in 2007 and currently entered its seventh year. The result is plump and fruitful. In the past seven years, the SHIPDET has successfully held 38 sessions and trained nearly 2000 officials, scholars and professionals from 40 countries and economic organizations, among whom there are more than 1000 Chinese trainees.

 

This training will be mainly lectured by two experts, Prof. Wang Yongjun, Dean of the research Institute of the Central University of Finance and Economics of China and Prof. Liu Qiming of the China Agriculture University. The themes about “the Development Evaluation Theory, Status Quo and Practice” and “the Operation and the Cases about International Financial Organization Loan Projects” will be focused on and delivered separately by the lecturers. Besides, another two experts from ADB Independent Evaluation Department and Strategy Policy Department will be in Shanghai to present the competitive performance evaluation projects that ADB has done. The trainees will gain not only the theory about the performance evaluation but also the rich experience from the international organizations from SHIPDET spring course.
