The 2nd Workshop of China-Cambodia Capacity Building Program 2014 Held in Shanghai
The 2nd Workshop of China-Cambodia Capacity Building Program 2014 on Public Financial Management Reform: Experience of China, which was co-organized by the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Center (AFDC), Ministry of Finance of China and Economics and Finance Institute (EFI), Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia was held on June 9-13 in Shanghai, China. Dr. Hean Sahib, Secretary of State of Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia and Dr. LI Kouqing, General Director of AFDC jointly opened the training and delivered welcome remarks on behalf of the training co-organizers.
As Dr. LI Kouqing pointed out, Cambodia and China are both developing countries and facing lots of problems in common during the development of economy. AFDC wishes to further enhance communication and cooperation with Cambodia and bring more benefits to people of the two nations through this capacity building program.
Dr. Hean Sahib thanked AFDC for its great efforts of organizing workshops to promote capacity building of cambodian finance officials. He hopes that through the AFDC and EFI cooperation platform the participants can not only learn the experiences from China but also know more about Shanghai and China to deepen the communication and strengthen the traditional friendship of the two countries.
The eight themes of this workshop include China’s Financial Reform, Public Expenditure Policy, Public Finance and Budgeting, Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations, China Financial Supervision, Public Procurement, Public Resource Mobilization, and so on. About 30 participants from Planning, Interior, Post and Telecommunication, Mines and Energy and other departments of Minintry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia attended the training.
During the workshop, Dr. Hean Sahib visited the campus of SNAI( AFDC) and had a discussion with experts of SNAI about the implementation of Treasury Single Account (TSA) by using Information Technology System.
