2014 SHIPDET West China Program offered in SNAI
2014 SHIPDET West China Program, which is co-sponsored by National Development and Reform Commission, CLEAR, and AFDC, is offered in SNAI from June 23 to June 27. 49 participants from five municipalities and provinces in China’s western region attended the week long training.
The program has got a powerful array of experts from prestigious academic institutions, government departments, and private sector, with a special focus on results-based M&E, public policy evaluation, performance evaluation of IFIs’ loan projects and public expenditure. One experience sharing session is also included in the program.
Besides the core course on performance evaluation, the program also incorporates several sessions on special topics such as local government financing, public private partnership and infrastructure building, fiscal and taxation reform, and China’s urbanization and western development.
“The knowledge and practice on performance evaluation and other topics I learned from this program are very helpful. I not only learned the basic concept and methodology to approach evaluation related work, but also got a broadened vision. We value the chance to learn from experts as well as developed regions”, said one participant at the closing session.This is the sixth SHIPDET program specially designed for China’s western region since 2009.
