The Workshop on Public Financial Management: Experience of China Held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia
The workshop on Public Financial Management: Experience of China, which was co-hosted by the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute (AFDI) and Ministry of Finance of China and Economics and Finance Institute (EFI), Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia, was held on December 3-6 in Phonm Penh, Cambodia. 56 officials from departments of Ministry of Economy and Finance and local governments of Cambodia attended the training course.
During the training, Chinese experts delivered thematic speeches on topics including “Public Financial Reform”, “Public Finance and Budgeting”, “Government Financial Management Information System（FMIS）” and “Treasury Single Account (TSA) Reform”. Heated discussions were shared between Chinese experts and Cambodian participants.
Dr. Hean Sahib, Vice Minister and Secretary of State of Ministry of Economyand Finance of Cambodia and Dr. Peng Runzhong, director of AFDI respectively delivered welcome remarks on behalf of the co-organizers at the openingceremony.
Since the kick-off of China-Cambodia Capacity Building Program in 2011,it is the first time that a workshop has been held within Cambodia. The training helps to enlarge the horizon of China-Cambodia capacity buildingtraining and has won high comments from the Cambodian officials. Furthermore, by providing the Cambodian participants with a deeper understanding ofChina’s experience on its economic development, friendship between China and Cambodia has been thus deepened.
