In December 2016 Dr. Jianming Ni joined the faculty at Shanghai National Accounting Institute (SNAI) as a senior economist with his teaching and research interests in Economics and Financial Risk Management. Prior to joining the SNAI, Jianming Ni assumed the position of General Manager of the Business Development Department and member of Supervisory Board at the Shanghai Clearing House---a central counterparty(CCP)financial infrastructure for national OTC financial markets under the umbrella of the central bank---the People’ Bank of China(PBC).
For over 12 years work experience at the headquarters of PBC, Jianming Ni was the Director of Transaction Analysis Division at China AML Monitoring and Analysis Center (FIU), Deputy Director of the BIS Division, World Bank Division and R&D Division of the International Department of the PBC. From October 2001 to December 2012, Jianming Ni was appointed Desk Economist at IMF Washington DC on Vanuatu and Tuvalu, and also working on West Samoa for daily macroeconomic surveillance, regular reporting to the Board of Director of the IMF, and conducting IMF Article IV consultation with the country authorities.
Jianming Ni has interest in information technology and once worked for IBM China from 1996 to 1997 before he joined the PBC. He is IBM Qualified “Data Specialist”.
