Workshop on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) held at SNAI/AFDI
From July 8 to 12, the workshop on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) was held in Shanghai National Accounting Institute(SNAI)/Asia Pacific Finance and Development Institute(AFDI), which is jointly sponsored by the Asian-Oceania Standard Setters Group(AOSSG), the Accounting Regulatory Department of the Ministry of Finance of China, the China Accounting Standards Committee (CASC) and SNAI. Mr. Gao Yibin, Director General of Accounting Regulatory Department of the Ministry of Finance of China as well as the Chair of AOSSG, Mr. Li Kouqing, the President of SNAI, Ms. Sue Lloyd, Vice Chair of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and Mr. Lu Jianqiao, Board member of IASB attended the opening ceremony. Experts from China, Brunei, Malaysia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka accounting standards bodies actively participated in the workshop.
The workshop aims to discuss the application and implementation of IFRS, so as to promote the exchange of experience in the development of accounting standards of various countries, promote the adoption or convergence of IFRS and improve the quality of financial reports in Asia and Oceania regions.
