The best memories and experiences in SNAI, China
I am glad to be a part of sharing my experience of living at the Shanghai National Accounting Institute (SNAI) in China. First of all, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Mali Sengkhamyong from Lao PDR (hereafter refers as Laos). I have worked at the Lao Academy of Social and Economic Sciences “LASES” (former National Institute for Economic Research “NIER”). My country “Laos” is a landlocked country in Southeast Asia and has now become a land-linked country to connect with China and other countries. Laos has many places to travel to, especially the natural, historical, cultural, and foods. Laos has become increasingly popular among international tourists because there is neutral beauty of the hills, mountains, and exotically attractive sites.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree until I worked, I have found the information in each country for a master's degree. I decided that I would like to study in China because I would like to learn the Chinese language, which will be easy to communicate during work and travel. Furthermore, also profoundly in Chinese cultural, historical, and traditional food. China has modern technology and facilitates education more than when compared with my country. When I applied for the scholarship in 2021, I selected the Shanghai National Accounting Institute (SNAI) for study; this course is related to my duty where I worked in Laos. When I received an email that I received the scholarship to study master's degree at SNAI, I was excited and happy all day. I discovered the information, and the seniors who graduated from SNAI are recommended that SNAI is a beautiful campus with a good environment, many spacious lecture rooms, facilities material, and indoor and outdoor activities such as a swimming pool, basketball, fitness center, etc. Furthermore, SNAI also has a specific specialist lecturer for sharing knowledge and techniques with their students.
That isn't easy when I feel like leaving home for a long time. I was excited but, at the same time, had little fear of the new reality. China was the first country outside Laos where I would be living independently. I knew that I had to adapt to an entirely new environment. I prepared to learn, explore, make new friends, and get to know myself more. Thankfully that was made easy by administration lecturers, supervisors, counselors, and friends at SNAI, who were helpful and recommended me a lot. SNAI has genuinely been my second home because I made new friends from different parts of the world and learned and experienced many new things. The excellent experience I got here does not imply that I did not have to face my share of discomfort and challenges; these challenges made me stronger and more confident. Finally, I will bring those experiences to share with the new graduating and colleagues in my organization and say that the race is not over until you have crossed the finish line. Stay strong and determined for the goal which you have always dreamt have.
