My learning experiences at SNAI
My name is Odebode Olayinka from Nigeria, West Africa. I work with the Federal High Court in Nigeria. Nigeria is the giant of Africa due to its largest population and driven economy with massive export of crude oil products, dwelling with vibrant people, and friendly, endowed with talented creative youths.
I chose China as the most preferred destination for studying because I was fascinated by their culture; watching Chinese movies in my leisure time back home drew my interest in Chinese lifestyles. Amidst the benefits derived from studying in China is the Chinese MOFCOM Scholarship. I also benefited from Chinese language learning opportunities and Chinese field trips during the programmes, all added value to my career.
In order to fulfill my long-time ambition by having a second (2nd) degree that matches my profession, Shanghai National Accounting Institute (SNAI) met all my expectations. I appreciate seasonal professors and the serene environment, which is equally located in Shanghai, home of expatriates.
The significant constraint I encountered was the constant Covid-19 test, quarantine and unending scanning at every point using WeChat and Alipay, which I found uninteresting at some point. The language barrier was another issue; we had to look for someone who could translate without a Google translator. Besides, the cold weather and the food were utterly different from Africa, where I came from. In a lighter mood, I became another schoolboy through the consistent application for leave to exit the campus.
Nevertheless, all the hitches mentioned above were resolved one after the other. The SNAI officials came to our aid at every point. WeChat resolved the perpetual scanning and translated it to English. However, we have been free since the Covid-19 test was suspended. Winter clothes resolved weather issues and now acclimatize to the environment. Also, I found my favorites food, especially pasta, chicken and duck meat. I do not joke with my breakfast anymore.
My learning experiences at SNAI as a takeaway are enormous because SNAI is not just a school but a home bound with love, diversity, sound learning and teaching without intimidation or discrimination. The experience is not limited to studies but gives world-class exposure to real-life situations.
The School management's swift response to student issues cannot be overemphasized. Once you have any challenges, send a mail or WeChat to either Annie, Chen, Amy, Kenanxu, Jessie or Grace, consider it solved.
Above all, I have started recommending SNAI to people as the only place where all expectations could be attained as far as Professional Master's in accounting is concerned, not only in China but also met global best practices.
