From Botswana to China
I originate from Botswana, a small landlocked country located in Southern Africa with a population of a little over 2 mil. Simply put, Botswana is the warm heart of Africa filled with diamonds. I am an employee at Office of the Auditor General Botswana working as an Auditor since year 2016. China is among top popular destinations for studying abroad. My interest for visiting China comes a long way back, it’s been long time coming. I grew up fascinated about the diverse Chinese culture especially martial arts from watching movies of the legendary Bruce Lee and Jet Li. China is well known for its rich and profound culture which is very diverse and unique no wonder when Mofcom opportunity came up I quickly jumped to grab it. China also boots unique delights of Chinese food and most importantly great travel convenience with well advanced rail system. China has been my home for the past four months and counting, no doubt the beautiful city of Shanghai has lived up to its name and far surpassed my expectations. With beautiful places I have visited during winter break which I recommend being the impressive Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, The People’s Square, The Bund, The Yu Garden and Zhujiajiao Water Town. The food has been amazing with my favorite being Shanghainese soup dumplings and Chinese people are very kind and loving. Shanghai is also among the safest cities to visit in the world.
With my expectation of better opportunities in the accounting field I specifically chose to study at SNAI. My research prior revealed that SNAI is one of the best institution in China which offer the best education and internationally recognized degrees. My university SNAI has exceeded my expectations with beautiful campus, comfortable dormitories, beautiful resourceful library, friendly staff, beautiful cafeteria with awesome food, beautiful membership free gym and basketball court, I cannot ask for anything better. Not to mention a dedicated and hardworking team of international students office who are always willing and happy to help. SNAI also boots knowledgeable lecturers with vast work experience who easily make learning a joyful experience. Simply put, SNAI makes you feel like family, gives you a sense of belonging and motivates you to grow professionally with its conducive learning environment.
What impressed me the most about my experience in China is the transport system mainly the passenger trains for domestic travel. The efficiency with which the railway system in China operates and moves one around is a joy to experience. It is cheap and one does not always need the traditional paper tickets as it offers convenience payments through mobile phone, just scan your mobile at the ticket gate you are well on your way. It is also very hard not to be impressed by China’s e-commerce. One is able to order different range of goods and services from the click of the button with tones of varieties and get them delivered at the comfort of their home with continues update on the delivery statuses. Also more impressive is the WeChat and Alipay, with smartphone one can make payments without need to carry cash around, truly impressive. My Stay in China at SNAI is one of the best amazing experiences.
