Approaching Hundred Years of Enameling and Feeling the Gilded Years - International students of SNAI went to China Centennial Enamelware Exhibition Hall to Conduct Field Study
On 5 January, international students of class 2021-2023 went to China Centennial Enamelware Exhibition Hall for Field Study.
Founded by the EMBA alumni couple, China Centenary Enamel Exhibition Hall, also known as Eight Points Garden, is a typical traditional Chinese garden building. The international students were impressed by the exquisiteness of Chinese enamel craft, and not only felt the industrial and social changes in China over the past hundred years, but also gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, as well as a full understanding of the social culture of glorious labour and the artisan spirit of striving for excellence.
During the visit, curator Xie first explained the development history of China’s enamel industry, then led the international students to visit the Centennial Exhibition of Chinese Enamel and invited them to experience the enamel handicraft. Through hand-painting, glaze coloring and high-temperature firing, each of our students made their own enamel products and fully appreciated the charm of enamel craftsmanship.
