The 5th FUN WITH CHINESE CONTEST
On the afternoon of June 13, the fifth Fun Chinese Contest for international students was successfully held in a lively atmosphere at our institute. International students from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts enthusiastically participated, showcasing their achievements in Chinese language learning through outstanding performances.
The competition featured six segments designed to comprehensively test participants' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as their teamwork abilities. In the "We are the team" group presentation, Team 5 performed a heartfelt rendition of I Love You, China with live instrumental accompaniment, moving the judges and audience. The "Act and Guess" segment sparked continuous laughter as students creatively interpreted Chinese vocabulary. During the "Fun with Characters" round, participants focused on Chinese character structures, collaborating to write as many accurate characters as possible based on given radicals. The most challenging segment, the "Whispered Repeat" relay game, saw most sentences becoming hilariously distorted by the end, with team members' confused expressions and absurd answers often leaving the judges in stitches. The "Hands and Ears in Dictation" cloze test posed a dual challenge of listening and writing, which all teams tackled excellently through division of labor. The final audience interaction segment, "Quick Quiz," brought the atmosphere to a climax as everyone eagerly answered questions, learning while immersed in the ocean of Chinese cultural knowledge.
Throughout the competition, the students fully demonstrated the results of their Chinese language studies and cultural immersion over the past year, earning resounding applause with their outstanding performances. After fierce competition, the top three group prizes were awarded. The judging panel presented certificates to the winning teams and took group photos, capturing the joyful moment in a warm and cheerful atmosphere.
After the event, the international students expressed their gratitude to the institute for organizing the competition. They remarked that it was not only a valuable opportunity to improve their Chinese skills but also an unforgettable cultural experience. They pledged to continue enhancing their proficiency in Chinese and contribute to deeper cultural exchanges between China and other countries.
